Futerra Becomes Official ‘Climate Solutions Provider’

As of today, Futerra is an official Climate Solutions Provider under the UN-backed Race to Zero – the first agency, advisory firm or professional services company to gain the title.

We couldn’t be more pleased, and every Futerran wants to thank our incredible clients whose partnership with us have made this possible.

The title has been granted by the Exponential Roadmap Initiative - an accredited partner of UN-backed Race To Zero campaign and a founding partner of the 1.5°C Supply Chain Leaders and the SME Climate Hub.

This Climate Solutions Provider title follows a new set of criteria developed by the Exponential Roadmap Initiative for professional services companies. Futerra fulfils these new criteria because we have;

• Integrated climate/nature in corporate vision/mission/values.
  
• Aligned with the 1.5°C ambition and the four climate pillars as outlined in the 1.5°C Business Playbook in regards to targets, plans, actions and disclosure.
  
• 90% of customer/project portfolio revenue is aligned with the 1.5°C ambition.
  
• Disclosed our portfolio on an annual basis to ensure a continuous alignment.

Futerra has joined a small list of pioneering organizations also awarded the coveted title, for example Polestar, Kivra and Deedster.

As a founding B-Corp, we already meet stiff rules on how our business operates. But under B-Corp, the impact of our client work is only one part of certification. For this new status, we have to look at the impact of our work in far more detail and provide detailed reporting to the Exponential Roadmap. It’s been a 12-month journey to this point and although Futerra is 100% dedicated to sustainability, the new criteria demanded some tough decisions.

What’s next?

We’re the first, but we don’t want to remain the only official Climate Solutions Provider in our sector. Within months we’d love to be joined by other consultancies, creative agencies and advisory firms in this status.

To that end, we’ll continue to support and advise our industry with what it takes. And challenge and push for our X-Industry to choose which side we’re on.
